Hong Kong has 12 Spanish restaurants in our directory, and all but one sit on Hong Kong Island. That makes a Spanish evening here easy to plan: most of the list is within walking distance of Central, and two venues share a single short street in Wan Chai. This guide goes neighbourhood by neighbourhood and sticks to what each venue's own listing says. The full list, with a map, is on the Hong Kong city page.
Central and PMQ
Central has the largest cluster, four venues within a short walk of each other.
- 22 Ships opened in 2012 on Ship Street in Wan Chai, which is where the name comes from, and has since moved to PMQ on Staunton Street. Madrid-born chef Antonio Oviedo runs a multi-regional menu of traditional and modern dishes. It has three dining areas plus terraces, and a walk-in Bodega table for drinks: Spanish wines, sherry, vermouth cocktails and house-made liqueurs. It also runs without a service charge.
- Chueca on Gough Street takes a creative approach adapted to local tastes, with a lot of attention on presentation. Both the owner, Horacio Moreu, and the chef, Jordi Valles, are Spanish.
- La Rambla (by Catalunya) is on level 3 of the ifc mall and aims to bring Barcelona into a sleek, modern dining room. It's the priciest listing in the city by our price band.
- Pica Pica on Des Voeux Road Central has a short listing that only describes a menu of starters, entrées and mains built on traditional Spanish cooking. Check its own channels before you go.
Wan Chai: two venues on Ship Street

Ship Street is short, and it holds two Spanish bars.
- Pintxos (22 Ship Street) is led by head chef Xavier Pla and built around Basque pintxos, the small bites of San Sebastián's taverns, with tapas, charcuterie and traditional desserts on the side.
- Bàrbar (9 Ship Street) is a tapas bar using Spanish ingredients, with a wine list to match and fiesta music in the background.
Put the two together and you have an easy two-stop evening: pintxos at one, then a few more plates and a glass at the other.
Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun
Heading west from Central, three more listings sit in quieter streets.
- El Vaso de Oro HK on Sai Street, Sheung Wan, is a tapas bar modelled on 1970s Spanish bodegas. Chef Carlos Salvador Asensio cooks hearty dishes, and the bar has been open since late 2022.
- La Paloma at Soho 189 on Queen's Road West, Sai Ying Pun, is a chiringuito-style tapas bar focused on the asador and on paella, and it serves brunch, lunch and dinner every day.
- Ping Pong 129 on Second Street, Sai Ying Pun, is a gintonería, a Spanish-style gin and tonic bar, in a large urban space. Come here for drinks rather than a full meal.
Causeway Bay and Tai Hang

- Aire (Lee Garden One, Causeway Bay) specialises in Basque grill cooking and modern dishes under executive chef Pere Moreno Germès. The menu leans on seafood, meats and Spanish products such as PDO ham, cheeses, extra virgin olive oil and traditional liqueurs.
- Qué Pasa Tapas y Vino on Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang, cooks over charcoal: classic tapas, Ibérico ham, cheeses and paellas made to order. It sits in the most affordable price band of the Hong Kong listings.
Tsim Sha Tsui: the Kowloon option
Bayfare Social is on the fifth floor of Rosewood Hong Kong at Victoria Dockside, looking over Victoria Harbour. It serves signature tapas with a twist and seasonal dishes, and it's part of the hotel's food hub with interactive food counters. If you're staying in Kowloon, this is the one listing you won't need to cross the harbour for.
