16 of the 26 Japanese restaurants in our directory are in Tokyo, spread across Ginza, Nihonbashi, Marunouchi, Roppongi, Daikanyama and beyond. This route uses opening hours from each venue's own listing to plan two days, one built around Catalan cooking and one around rice.
Saturday lunch: Ginza
Masia is on the 8th floor of the Ginza Belvia Building, 2-4-6 Ginza. Its listing describes Catalan cooking built on a concept it calls "Mar y Montaña" (sea and mountain): combining seafood and meat on one dish, which the record says Catalans have done for generations. Chef Mateu Villaret's philosophy, per the record, is "Catalan roots, Spanish soul and Japanese produce". Saturday lunch runs 12:00 to 15:00. Masia lists no hours for Tuesday or Wednesday.
If Masia is full, Arrocería La Panza at 1-15-8 Ginza specialises in paella and rice dishes and serves Saturday lunch from 11:45 to 14:45. El Chateo Ginza at 3-2-12 Ginza is open straight through on Saturday, 11:30 to 22:00.

Saturday evening: Nihonbashi or Marunouchi
Bikini Picar is on the 2nd floor of COREDO Muromachi, 2-2-1 Nihonbashi-muromachi, and is open 11:00 to 23:00 every day. Its listing describes casual dining based on the traditional cooking of Catalonia, under the supervision of Josep Barahona Viñes.
For an earlier dinner, Bar Portillo de España in Marunouchi Terrace (1-3-4 Marunouchi) serves Saturday dinner from 16:30 to 21:00 and specialises in paella and rice plates.
Sunday: Roppongi or Daikanyama
BIKINI SIS in Roppongi Hills (6-10-1 Roppongi) has the same description as Bikini Picar: Catalan cooking under the supervision of Josep Barahona Viñes. Sunday hours are 11:00 to 15:00, then 17:00 to 23:00.
Or head to Daikanyama for rice: Restaurante Arrocería Sal y Amor (12-19 Daikanyama-cho) serves Sunday lunch from 11:50 to 15:00 and dinner from 19:00 to 22:00. Its listing says it specialises in paella and rice plates and is one of four restaurants in the same group. The other three are La Panza, Portillo de España and Bar Portillo de Sal y Amor in Aobadai, Meguro (no hours listed).

Before you go
- Most venues on this route close between lunch and dinner. Bikini Picar and El Chateo Ginza on Saturday are the exceptions.
- Some of these restaurants are on upper floors (Masia on the 8th, Bikini Picar on the 2nd), so look for the floor number in the address.
