About
Since 2003, Lokanta has been introducing guests in Rotterdam to the richness of Spanish gastronomy. Our inspiration comes from Spain's markets, family kitchens and regional food traditions, where cooking begins with respect for the ingredient and for the recipes that have been passed down through generations. Our philosophy is rooted in simplicity, quality and craftsmanship. We believe that exceptional ingredients deserve thoughtful preparation that allows their natural flavours to shine. Whether it is a perfectly matured Jamón Ibérico, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables or a traditional stew, every dish starts with carefully selected Spanish products and a commitment to bringing out the very best of each main ingredient. This philosophy is reflected throughout our restaurant. We work almost exclusively with products from Spain, from our wines, beers, cheeses and olive oil to the ingredients used in our kitchen. Wherever possible, our dishes are prepared in-house using traditional techniques and recipes, while remaining accessible and enjoyable for today's guests. For us, Spanish cuisine is about sharing honest food, generous hospitality and the pleasure of eating together. By celebrating the diversity of Spain's regional gastronomy and staying true to its culinary traditions, we hope every guest leaves with a deeper appreciation of the flavours, culture and craftsmanship that make Spanish food so special.

We arrived and we're shown a table, and while I understand the restaurant was busy, two servers were aware of our presence, yet after 10 minutes I had to ask for menus and drinks. This set the tone of the service for the rest of the evening, they were friendly and apologetic, but all dishes took long and the drinks more so. At one point we even received the dish of another table, which was pointed out to the staff. The food itself was good and wholesome but not great. We had a good evening, but not due to the efforts of the restaurant. I did have high expectations, and perhaps that was where I made the mistake. I do wish the establishment the best of luck, and I hope my experience was just a once off occurrence.”

But honestly, octopus was with A Lot of oil and not salty at all! When I asked for a salt, it turned out that they didn’t not have any , we got our salt at a tiny plate. Patatas bravas from air fryer.. seriously? If you were in a tapas bar in Spain don’t spend your time and money. It is at least 2 times more expensive than in Spain and very disappointing taste wise.”

★★★★★via Google“This place is tucked in a beautiful area in Kralingen and upon entering, the interior is also very nice with minimalistic but decorations resembling Spanish culture. The menu itself is quite extensive with a good range of cold and warm tapas with decent prices. We ordered a variety of different dishes ranging from patatas bravas to Argentinian shrimps. Most of the dishes we received were very good tasting authentic with a little twist. I highly recommend the shrimps, the pimientos, and the mussels. However the empanadas were a big disappointment as they were tiny and also quite bland and were somehow almost as expensive as the meat dishes. In addition the patatas bravas were good but were quite different to what you receive in Spain so that also could have been better. Finally, we were receiving dishes one by one at the beginning which to me defeats the purpose of tapas which is to eat them at the same time so that should also be improved. Nevertheless it’s a nice place so I recommend to anyone looking for tapas place but do take my comments into account.”
