“I had dinner at the bar and it was one of those well-done experiences rare in NYC these days. Half the work was done by Mar, the bartender, making it enjoyable and engaging with a full bar of people. He was honest and really hospitable. It made the dining experience more casual and approachable. The other half was the food. Everything we ate was 10/10, no complaints! Usually these days in NYC, the food may not be enough (then you'll need to get a slice afterwards) but our initial order was the perfect amount! I only realized this afterwards, but all the questions I had about the menu had their answers on the blackboard, behind where I was sitting. Cute turbot drawing! We started with the fried shrimp (can't find the Spanish word for it but I totally read it as shrimp quesadillas LOL). These are SOOOOO good to start a meal! Love love loved it! The octopus carpaccio is probably the BEST octopus carpaccio that I've had in the city, in the world! I don't order octopus myself anymore, if it's on the table, I'll eat it and I guiltily wanted another one, and another, and another. It was the perfect thinness and the olive oil covering it was really high quality. The flavors were so fresh and crisp. Next was the seafood and uni arroz. Flawless, delicious and perfect for this strange cold and wet NYC day after 4 days of summer. So comforting. The seafood beans were also cozy and delicious. I'm a sucker for uni but the seafood beans outshined the seafood rice. The last dishes were the crispy suckling pig and some fried potatoes. So good. Nothing was over seasoned, everything was perfect and wonderful. The Basque cheesecake was the perfect end to the night! From all the cocktails shared between us, I most enjoyed the black Manhattan, G&T Nehi (with Concord grape cordial and Sancho pepper), and the T&T (with fino sherry). I didn't know that Txikito has been open for 18 years! It's been on my list forever. I will definitely be back!”

“Buckle up because we have a saga to share. I arrived before my friend and Collin was very friendly (remember that name because he really just made the whole experience). I ordered a bottle of Tempranillo (Akutain) for the table, and Collin steered me in the right direction with this bottle. It only got better with time as it opened up over the evening. After my friend arrived, we immediately knew we wanted the pulpo (octopus carpaccio), which is a top 3 discussed item on Google reviews. We ordered it and highly recommend; it is appropriately hyped (it also comes with a side of bread). We also ordered the patatak y padron, which is fries with a few shishito peppers and a green dipping sauce, also delicious (and recommended by others over the cold potato salad, which we did not try, but only pass on the information). Next we ordered the gem salad (yum! Nothing special but gotta get your greens yunnow) and the crispy suckling pig, another top 3 discussed item in Google reviews. Let me be honest with you, we were a little skeptical based on the description and the reviews, but we haven’t no reservations now. Definitely get the crispy suckling pig. Don’t even debate it. Last, when we were thinking about possible dessert, my friend and I are more salty rather than sweet people, so we did consider the cheesecake, which sounded delicious, but we opted for arroz meloso (a carb instead of a sweet), the last top 3 discussed item in Google reviews, which Collin said is his favorite dish there (and I heard him also say this to another table at the start of their meal, in case you have doubts about his honesty). We cannot begin to tell you how good it is. As my friend says, “I love a creamy, savory rice.” We were having such a good time that we didn’t want to leave, so I ordered the La Frida (a really unique rum cocktail that Collin backed) and my friend ordered a very dirty martini. We were both of course very pleased. I don’t often feel compelled to write a review, but I had such a lovely time with Collin at our table and the delicious food. My friend and I like to try new restaurants and usually do not return due to the volume of restaurants in NYC but we are seriously considering returning. Also, I left my umbrella and Collin messages me through Resy texting that they are saving it for me in the office. We really do feel like he’s gone above and beyond for us.”

“Txikito was an incredible experience. Everything on the menu was so good. We had the steak, which was a sizable portion for four people and really, really good. The sommelier knew what they were doing and offered a great pairing. The dessert was incredible. Both the Bossk cake and the Ruso meringue puffs were incredible and worth ordering. The white bean soup was also to die for, and the succulent pig was so good. Overall, everything on the menu was worth trying again and worth going back for. It was really, really good. If you are in Chelsea, you should definitely try this.”

“WOW. I was soooo happy with this meal. Everything was so delicious. We loved everything we had. The sommelier helped us pick a great bottle. We got the patatas, fried head on shrimps, and the kroketas as our snacks - all incredible. For colds we got the pulpo and the amberjack. For hot we got the mushroom carpaccio and the swordfish. Sincerely, everything was wonderful and I’d order it all again. We ordered a second round of kroketas bc they were just that good. My girlfriend’s favorite was the kroketas (truffle and leek) and my favorite was the amberjack. We can’t wait to come back with friends. Highly highly recommend!”
