★★★★★via Google“I had dinner at the Hacienda Vision Hotel. Izurun is the hotel's main dining area, but they're struggling to keep up with the ¥25,000 dinner price, so Mendi has opened in the same location under a different name, offering ¥15,000 dinner. On the day I visited, a simple partition appeared, with Izurun in the back and Mendi in the front. The restaurant is certified by ICEX (Spain Trade and Investment Agency)'s RESTAURANTS FROM SPAIN program and boasts authentic, high-quality Spanish cuisine. While opinions may vary, the Spanish lunch I had the other day at a restaurant in Aoyama, Tokyo, for ¥7,500 was far superior in quality and truly impressive. I thought the food was average, but it didn't quite capture the spirit of San Sebastian, Spain, known as the world's leading gourmet city, so it was a disappointment. I feel like there are more Spanish dishes that make better use of Mie's ingredients. I like Vision, so I hope they keep up the great work. Since it's an open kitchen, you should probably think about the fact that you'll be watching the chef's actions even before you eat. Good luck! With so many restaurants out there, if Visson doesn't become the best, the value of Visson itself will be diminished.”
★★★★★via Google“I visited the steak restaurant "Mendi." The tables were close, so I could almost hear the conversations of the neighboring guests. The live piano music was good for conversation. There seemed to be a shortage of staff. The dish introduction was precise and clear. The first three dishes on the dish introduction list were served first, with soup and salad served in the middle as a palate cleanser. The red wine, priced at 1,500 yen per glass, was delicious. The salad was elaborate, with plenty of ingredients, and very tasty. As a special service, bite-sized beef curry was served. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth and blended well with the roux, making for a delicious curry. The meat was lean and had a nice texture. It was a nice keepsake. Thank you for the meal.”
★★★★★via Google“A truly excellent dining experience, meticulously planned. From the lagrima at the beginning to the perfectly cooked shrimp in the kitchen, even the accompanying white wine was from the Basque region. From the refrigerator to the table, every dish showcased the ingredients and the chef's dedication. The Basque tomato gazpacho made with local tomatoes, the abalone featuring amphibians, the ice cream pie made with butternut squash, and the perfectly cooked Matsusaka beef with yuzu cold noodles—all are still unforgettable. It's definitely worth savoring. The only concern is whether your stomach is big enough; will you feel sleepy after a three-and-a-half-hour meal?”
★★★★★via Google“It was a wonderful dinner that made us feel like we were on a trip to the Basque Country! It started at the bar, then led to a secret...! The dishes were thoughtfully prepared, and it was a continuous stream of new experiences. We were able to enjoy the fresh, seasonal local ingredients to the fullest. We also got to explore Spanish wines with the pairings! The hospitality was excellent, and it was a time that made the whole family smile. We would definitely like to visit again. *There are many reviews for breakfast, but the menu is completely different from dinner, so we highly recommend going for dinner!”
★★★★★via Google“The dinner is incredibly delicious. Everything is tasty, and the service consistently exceeds expectations. The service is polite and pleasant. It's no surprise, considering the chef trained at Arzak, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in San Sebastian. Incidentally, San Sebastian is a small city in the Basque Country with a population of about 300,000. Despite its small size, the entire city is known as a gastronomic hub, boasting numerous bars and three three-Michelin-starred restaurants. I visited during my student days and it was fantastic. The chef has mastered authentic Basque cuisine while adapting it to Japanese tastes, making it highly recommended. The reason the reviews aren't higher despite the delicious food is likely due to the low ratings of their breakfast and lunch offerings. While the dinner is truly excellent, the breakfast is more like a hotel buffet and not at the same level as dinner. Therefore, if you're interested in dinner, I recommend going at least once, regardless of the reviews.”
★★★★★via Google“I highly recommend trying their dinner. We visited for a special occasion, so I apologize if my experience differs from others, but I would give it a solid 5 stars. While I don't evaluate every restaurant as I get older, I thought this was excellent. I apologize to those only planning on having the breakfast buffet, but please try dinner. As others have mentioned in their reviews, they serve the food with the utmost care, prioritizing the quality of the ingredients. While it might be a bit much for older people, I haven't encountered such delicate handiwork in a long time. Thank you so much. I believe they are constantly experimenting with the breakfast buffet based on customer feedback. Please try dinner. I won't go into too much detail, but the clams were simply sublime. I consider myself a drinker, but I'm glad I didn't order the set meal. It was a truly satisfying anniversary.”
★★★★★via Google“I had breakfast here while staying at Hotel Vision. Located on the 10th floor, the top floor of the hotel, the view from the window overlooking the entire facility was quite impressive. Luckily, I was seated at a counter seat by the window. In the evening, it serves a luxurious course meal. The variety of dishes is not that extensive, but each one is delicious and healthy. The staff are friendly and the service is pleasant. The desserts are all ones that women would love ♡ The atmosphere is nice, and it was a pleasant morning. Perhaps because it was crowded, there was a time limit of about 50 minutes, which was a bit disappointing.”
★★★★★via Google“We stayed at the Bison Hotel and went for breakfast. The morning light streaming in created a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast is served in one-hour shifts: 7:30 AM 8:30 AM We went for the 7:30 AM slot. We were asked to leave by 8:20 AM to make way for the next group, the 8:30 AM slot. So, it was a 50-minute buffet. Due to COVID-19 precautions, we put on gloves before heading in! That said, I'm not someone who can eat a huge amount in the morning, so I took a bite of everything and went back for more of the things I liked. A 50-minute buffet goes by surprisingly quickly, especially considering the time spent going back for more. 4000 yen for breakfast… While you can enjoy pintxos and other dishes, the variety of food isn't huge, and the drink selection is limited, so it felt a bit overpriced. I thought, "When I'm traveling, I shouldn't worry about money!" If that's the case, then it's perfectly fine, but I thought that another restaurant within the hotel might have been just as good. The good thing is that it's inside the hotel, so there's less walking involved. Thank you for the meal! ♡”
