DukkAh

Spanish restaurant in Osaka, Japan.
About
Dukkah was born with the purpose of showcasing the authentic Spanish cuisine in Japan. The name makes reference to a spice that is a mixture of cumin, coriander, nuts and sesame seeds, and it is a metaphor of the Spanish cuisine, which has a mixture of many different cultures. The style of cooking is Spanish with a special focus in some regions such as Galicia, Cantabria, Basque Country, Navarra and the north of the Mediterranean. It appears in some national and international guides including the Michelin Guide where it is listed as a Spanish restaurant and recognized with a Bib Gourmand. Eiichi Matsumoto, the restaurant owner and chef, can explain the main dishes and restaurant concept to customers.

★★★★★via Google“The owner was working alone. It was fun watching the food being prepared right in front of me. Bean and prosciutto soup. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of beans, so it was a bit of a struggle (a matter of personal preference). Empanada? It was juicier and tastier than the one I had in Spain! Lol. It smelled delicious from the moment I smelled it! Squid ink seafood pasta paella. This was incredibly delicious! So many first-time pasta paellas! The moment I put it in my mouth, the umami of the seafood spread, so good! Galician-style pork? Cheese flan I was also very grateful and surprised that they had a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks instead of just soft drinks. And they were delicious! I'm so full! I wanted to order non-alcoholic sangria too, but I really couldn't fit it in. Thank you for the meal!”
★★★★★via Google“【It's wonderful to be able to enjoy regional cuisine from northern Spain at reasonable prices ♡ Authentic Spanish cuisine certified by Galicia (⑉• •⑉)♡ I'm overjoyed that they even serve pasta paella!!】 My first visit to 'Duca,' where you can enjoy northern Spanish cuisine and Spanish wine in an open kitchen ⭐️ As the only restaurant in Japan certified by Galicia, they express the regional cuisine of northern Spain using seasonal ingredients unique to the Kansai region, along with the seasonings and cooking methods of northern Spain. --Time of Visit-- Weekday Lunch --Reservation-- Reservation Made --Scene of Visit-- Solo Diner --Cost-- Lunch ¥4,000-¥5,000 --Meal Details-- ▶Chilled Bean Soup, Homemade Prosciutto, Prosciutto Consommé Jelly The rich umami of the beans is complemented by the saltiness of the prosciutto, and the fragrant flavor of the wobbly consommé adds to the deliciousness♡ ▶Galician-Style Pork Shoulder The pork is incredibly tender and full of flavor♡ The potatoes are fluffy and sweet, and the paprika powder adds to the deliciousness (○・∀・○) The Galician-style seasoning is exquisite, and the aftertaste lingers with every bite! ▶Squid Ink Pasta Paella The aioli sauce underneath is fantastic ♡ You can really taste the richness and aroma of the squid ink, and the deep umami is irresistible ( *´꒳`*) The texture of the pasta is also enjoyable, and it's infused with the delicious flavor of seafood The aioli accent is also wonderful! Re ▶Dessert ▫️Cheese Flan It has a sticky texture but melts nicely in the mouth, and the saltiness and richness of the cheese are pleasantly delicious (⑉• •⑉)♡ ▫️Chocolate and Sansho Pepper Gelato The rich sweetness of the chocolate is complemented by the subtle flavor of sansho pepper ♡ It was very filling and delicious (⑅•ᴗ•⑅)◜..°♡ ---Menu Contents--- ◇◆Menú almuelzo ¥3,500◆◇ ◇Cold Bean Soup, Homemade Prosciutto, Prosciutto Consommé Jelly ◇Seaweed Butter, Baguette ◇Pork Shoulder, Galician Style ◇Squid Ink Pasta Paella ◇Dessert ▫️Cheese Flan ▫️Chocolate and Sansho Pepper Gelato --Service-- As it's a one-person operation, there's no communication beyond necessary matters. The chef seems to be cooking in silence. However, it's not that the atmosphere is bad; it feels like you could have a good conversation if you visited multiple times. --Cost Performance-- High satisfaction in terms of price! --Restaurant Atmosphere-- The restaurant is a little dimly lit, and Spanish is being spoken, creating an atmosphere like being in a foreign country. There are only 8 counter seats and a fully open kitchen, allowing you to watch the cooking process. --Revisit-- ★★★☆☆ I'd like to enjoy it with wine for dinner!”
★★★★★via Google“I went for lunch alone. The dishes were carefully prepared, making the most of the ingredients, and you could feel the chef's dedication from start to finish. I didn't ask the chef, but the prosciutto in the gazpacho seemed homemade. It was a delicate prosciutto. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a wonderful time. Thank you. I forgot to take a picture of the baguette and seaweed butter.”
★★★★★via Google“I went for the 4,600 yen lunch course to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was a great value course that included seafood, meat, and rice dishes. We started with a toast with cava. The appetizer was a light soup. The fideua, filled with plenty of octopus, was particularly memorable. The rice dish was arroz melots, with duck and porcini mushrooms. Arroz melots is a Spanish rice porridge with an irresistible porcini aroma. We had requested a message plate for dessert in advance, and we had a wonderful lunch. It's a small restaurant with only the owner and counter seating, so I recommend making a reservation.”
★★★★★via Google“Very intimate dinner. English friendly, and food was worth its michelian star! Reservation can be made online.”
