“Fantastic location and a perfect spot to enjoy crafted cocktails while overlooking the lively activity on Bassac Lane from the second-floor bar area. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away at the top of a very narrow, twisty spiral staircase, but the climb is absolutely worth it. The atmosphere, the drinks, and the view down to the Bassac Lane drop-off point make this an outstanding place to relax, catch up with friends, and do some great people-watching. And don’t miss the Whisky Sour—it’s spot-on and one of the best I’ve had.”

“I accidentally walked into this little alley and found this place to be the most comfortable looking. There’s not too loud music, and in the small kitchen, three people coordinate to cook, make drinks, and serve food. It’s really charming. Sitting at the bar, enjoying a cigar while watching the chef prepare fresh dishes is truly a therapeutic experience. The cheese balls are delicious, especially paired with Sangria—I really love it! This is definitely a place I want to return to!”

“My visits to Casa Diego are usually centered around one thing—a good cigar. The upstairs space is perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and getting a bit of meditative solitude. They’ve got a respectable selection in the humidor and a fair cutting fee if you bring your own stick. The cocktail list is solid, the staff well-trained, and there’s even food available for when you’re feeling peckish. From the second floor, there’s great people-watching, though when I’m smoking, it’s more about being present with the moment. “Great Spanish place in bassac street - has a small stairway which they due to the top floor of the place. We got the oxtail stew and the prawn spaghetti, with lime juice, passion fruit juice and chicken croquettes on the side. The oxtail stew is best served with bread, portion sizes quite okay, I felt full after. Spaghetti was also nice, much smaller spaghetti to western Italian restaurant or in Italy itself (which goes without saying). The chicken crock heads were very tasty and the drinks were refreshing. Our bill came to $34 USD. The best part of the experience was the view of bassac street and doing some people watching from the top floor. I would recommend either coming here or somewhere else on the top floor to experience bassac street!”

The only comment I have is I found their beer to be more exoensive of the average price in that area. They charged 3.5 USD for a large beer and the size of their glass is not large.”
