“Beso was an incredible spot for dinner! The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. It’s tapas-style, which made it perfect for sharing with friends. Our server, Ivi, host, and the manager were so sweet and welcomed us so warmly; the service was truly above and beyond. We were a group of girls celebrating a friend’s engagement, and I highly recommend this place for a special occasion or just a fun night out!”

“One of the best food and service experiences I’ve had. They definitely have things locked down when it comes to being attentive and quality of guest experience. We walked in and it’s already buzzing - music up, people talking, tables full. Not a quiet spot at all… but that’s kind of the point. We ordered a bunch to share - tapas, drinks, just let it come out as it’s ready. Everything was solid, the food was amazing and you’re just enjoying it while talking, laughing, and having a good time. Service was the best I’ve had, the staff didn’t miss a beat. Friendly, quick, and they keep things moving without rushing you. Also super helpful with recommendations and food allergies. If you’re looking for something low-key, this isn’t it. If you want energy and a fun night with friends, with food you’ll dream of for weeks after this is the spot.”

“The restaurant has such a good vibe. Serves are really attentive and knowledgeable and the interior design is really pretty. We tried a variety of different dishes. The star was definitely the short rib skewer — it was super juicy and tender. The crispy potatoes and steak tartare were also really great. I didn’t like the Spanish octopus much, it was too salty and really nothing special. But, overall I had a very good dining experience and I will be coming back!!”

“Was really craving paella and decided to try Beso by Patria. The last time I was here, it was still Patria, so I was curious to see how it compares now. We ordered the shishito peppers, calamari frito, short rib skewer, seafood paella, plus an espresso martini and a lychee martini. The shishito peppers were solid, no complaints there. The calamari frito, though, wasn’t great, the batter kept flaking off, which made it kind of unpleasant to eat. The short rib skewer was actually a highlight, really enjoyed the sauce so it was a nice surprise. The seafood paella was the biggest letdown. It lacked depth of flavour, the mussels didn’t taste very fresh, and even though it was served in a traditional paella pan, it came out only room temperature. Not sure if that’s intentional, but it definitely threw me off. Overall, didn’t enjoy it. The drinks leaned more on the sweet side and weren’t very strong. Service-wise, the servers came by multiple times asking to clear our plates or drinks while we were still eating or hadn’t finished, which felt a bit rushed and confusing. Overall, there were a couple of decent dishes, but not enough highlights to make me want to come back.”

“10/10 this is my favourite Spanish restaurant in Toronto, maybe in all of Canada. Me and my friend have been all over Spain and think this place is super authentic. Their paella is amazing but we came for the happy hour and the prices were great too. We ordered pretty much the whole happy hour menu, tried both sangrias, and their signature espresso martini. Perfection. Every dish was delicious and authentic tasting. Perfectly seasoned. I came here because I was able to try it as part of a work event last winter and wanted to try it again. Everything was as delicious as I remembered it and the prices were great for two people (~$125 after taxes). Mind you we ordered like 12 things, including octopus and seafood paella. Highly recommend this restaurant. The service was so warm and accommodating, they literally checked on us like 20 times throughout the night. Definitely meets Spanish hospitality expectations. The jamon croquettes are the stand outs. I ordered two of them lol. Love this place will definitely be a regular here going forward!”

“I had high hopes for this place based on recs from friends, and good reviews but what should have been the straws of the show really fell flat. The tapas/appetizers were DIVINE! I am still dreamed of those fritters with ricotta dip. The cocktails were alright. The atmosphere is very warn yet modern and grande. The paellas are what we were all very excited by. I believe they had told us in advance that it would be a 30 mins wait for them. When they cane out, they looked great but fell flat in depth of flavour. I would try their beef dishes next time as they looked and smelled really great. The desserts were also a hit! We ordered nearly every dish on the menu and cleaned them all. Nice date spot, to really make a statement.”

“Easy to locate the restaurant, tucked a bit away from the main street. Atmosphere was great, quiet, and had slightly dim lights. Food was brought out one by one before the main dishes came which was nice since the table would not be able to hold many dishes. To start we ordered the Jamon Croquettas and the taste was great but these came with only 2 bite sized pieces (not mentioned in the menu) which felt underwhelming when it arrived. Next up came the bacon wrapped dates and these were pretty good, flavourful, and came with 4 pieces. The seafood paella and 16oz beef rib steak came out together which was nice. The paella was flavourful but lacked a variety of seafood. It was basically mussels and shrimp and even then there weren't enough pieces of those in the dish. The steak was great. Enjoyed every bit of it and paired well Vina Elena Familia Pacheco red wine. The service was exceptional and the server came by often enough without feeling like we were being disturbed. Never needed to ask for water as they were always ready to refill.”
