“Apart from the heat from the stove, I truly enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching the master chef, Angelina, prepare each dish. She has a beautiful pair of eyes, just like Angelina Jolie! 😍 We had the privilege of ordering our meal by watching each dish she prepared, which made the dining experience even more interesting. The suckling pig was tender and delicious, and I also learned about the tradition of breaking plates from them. There were still so many dishes I wanted to try, so I’ll definitely be going back again! 😋”

“We accidentally walked into this Spanish restaurant. The oven and chargrill were keywords. Table service was welcoming, professional, and excellent. Dishes were amazing. The bread with smoked butter is a must have. The Wagyu tartare and the scallops were simply defining moments as starters. Every bite into the grilled octopus and Iberico were memorable. Oh yes, highly recommend a glass of red wine to pair with the dishes. Perfect dinner. 🍽️”

“This Basque-style flame-grilled Spanish concept uses different types of wood to give the rich flavours that we love. We had their lunch tasting set ($38+++/pax), comprising 1 chef's choice of picoteo + 1 main. Anchoas is a savoury buttery toast that's simple, enjoyable, albeit slightly salty from the anchovies. Ostra were Japanese oysters were fresh, with an umami namjim sauce that complemented their natural sweetness. Zamburinas were grilled baby scallops w kombu butter!! Such an underrated ingredient because I loved how it brought a creamy savouriness to the scallops. Dorada seabream was soft, nicely grilled and marinated, & paired well w clams and fried leeks, though the orzo was on the softer side (reminding me of kway teow texture). I would have preferred it with a bit more chew !! Entrécot comprised of a nicely grilled 200g striploin & an addictive smoked mash, I could have this for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Comes w mushroom beef jus & piquillo peppers! [DESSERT OF THE DAY & COFFEE/TEA, +$5] Basque Burnt Cheesecake was nicely creamy, & the quince-flavoured ice cream had honeyed floral notes that just went so well together. bf & I liked their latte; comes w mini 61% cocoa chocolate stick. Osmanthus tea is served in a teapot & enough for 2 full cups. tldr: chill cosy lunch date spot that's worth considering, esp if you happen to be in the charming little neighbourhood of Joo Chiat !!”

“Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was crowded. And we know why ...cuz the food IS SO GOOD! Seafood so fresh, everything beautifully cooked. Octopus and prawns are a must. And DYLAN is super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Knows the dishes well, even knows what certain kitchen paraphernalia are. Would definitely come back for the prawn and pina colada dessert. Will also try the beef next time as it looks very good.”

“We had a wonderful time dining at Asador tonight. Our host Kat was such a wonderful bundle of energy and she took care of us very well the entire night. The food was amazing, cocktails were lovely and service excellent. If you are looking for good Spanish food in the Joo Chiat neighbourhood, go check them out. The freshly baked bread with smoked butter was outstanding, anchovy on toast, simply delightful. And the Iberico Jamon Toast was also delicious. The huevos, potato chips with fried egg and prawn ajillo was fantastic! For the mains, the octopus dish was so well executed, great texture and flavour. Suckling pig had a nice crackling skin. And if you get half a hog, you can apparently break the plate too!”
