“The staff were very kind. They refilled our water as soon as it ran out. The paella was even better than what you'd find in Spain. The appetizers were also delicious and visually appealing, with about four different options.”

“July 5th, 2026 (Sat) I visited for lunch. I had the A course for ¥3,300. The appetizer, salad, shrimp ajillo, main course seafood paella, and banana ice cream dessert were all delicious! The paella, in particular, was very generous in portion size and I was extremely satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal!”

“I was so impressed that I could get such a luxurious lunch of this quality for only 2000 yen. The lunch set included a plate of appetizers, a drink, and paella. I was surprised by how authentic the paella was. I was so happy that the outside was perfectly crispy. The seafood paella was very generously portioned, with two kinds of shellfish, and was of very satisfying quality. The seafood broth had soaked into the rice, making it so delicious I wanted to eat it endlessly. The best part was the two large shrimp! They were absolutely exquisite, including the prawn roe... Incidentally, the appetizer was a luxurious plate with Spanish omelet, pâté, carrot salad, and cold corn soup, and everything was delicious. This was my first time discovering this restaurant, but I felt it was definitely a place loved by those in the know. The restaurant was full, and there were families there too! Next time I'm thinking of trying the squid ink paella, but I have a feeling I'll end up choosing the seafood paella again. It's a tough decision!”

“Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be using this restaurant again. I used it for lunch with friends on a holiday and booked the 3,000 yen course. The food itself tasted good, but I had doubts about the service. I called beforehand to inform them that someone in our group had a shrimp allergy and to inquire about the possibility of changing the course. Regarding the ajillo, I was told that it could be changed from shrimp to mushrooms, but since it was served on a large platter, there would be an additional charge for everyone in the group. Because there were many of us and some wanted shrimp, we gave up on changing the ajillo. Also, regarding the paella, I was told over the phone that everyone in the group had to choose the same type because it was served on a large platter, but we could choose from seafood, squid ink, or vegetable and cheese. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that "only seafood is available on holidays," and that other types were not available. When I mentioned that I had been told over the phone that we could choose, they said, "We don't usually do this, but we'll make a special exception and prepare a different paella for just one person this time." However, their tone felt sarcastic, and I felt uncomfortable even before the meal started. While they did accommodate my request in the end, I had confirmed this beforehand and made a reservation, so I would have liked a more considerate response. Also, Tabelog (a restaurant review site) stated that paella options were available, and there was no mention of only seafood being available on holidays. If I had known this from the beginning, I would have considered a different restaurant due to my allergies. My allergies are not a matter of likes or dislikes, so I felt that a more careful response regarding this point would have been appreciated.”

“My wife and I went to Vidro Spanish restaurant in Kichijoji last night. We had been wanting to try it for some time. The first thing that hit me was that this being a Spanish restaurant, and their signature dish being paella, they don't know how to pronounce it correctly or spell it correctly in Katakana. The double "L" confuses them. I explained to the staff that a double "L" in Spanish makes a "Y" sound. I even played a Spanish speaker pronouncing paella on my phone. So, to the owner of this restaurant, paella is not pronounced pa-e-ri-a, it is pronounced pa-e-ya. OK, let's get on to the meal. First, we had to choose a wine from the Spanish wine list. Unfortunately, they were out of my first 2 choices, so we opted for their "original" wine (I assume produced in Spain specifically for this restaurant). The price was 4,000 yen, not cheap, but reasonable. (There were other more expensive wines.) The taste was nothing to rave about. It was a bit sharp, not full-bodied, low tannins. 4,000 yen was way overpriced for this particular wine. I can buy similar tasting Spanish wines at Kichijoji wine shops for 300 yen, so that was a negative. Next, we ordered a mixed salad from the salad list. This was a good choice. It contained many ingredients: lettuce, tomato, anchovies, olives, arugula, thin onion (I believe) and slices of parmesan cheese, with a delicious dressing. This was a positive. Our next order was lamb chops (2). They were spiced well, and cooked to perfection, however, one of them was 50% fat, which we cut away. This, I felt, was a waste of money, another negative. Then came the paella. We chose the shrimp from a long list. It had 4 good sized shrimp, pieces of squid and scallop, and a few mussels and a couple of clams. These shellfish were quite small, about the size of a pea. But the main problem was (and I suppose it's the same with each paella dish) the center area of the hot iron plate it's cooked and served in, the rice is soft and flavorful, but the rice in the outer area is almost burnt. It's hard and crunchy, difficult to chew. If you have weak teeth or wear dentures, avoid the outer rim. you could break your teeth. Another negative. Now comes the dessert: a custard with a glass-like sweet glaze, chocolate cake, and vanilla ice cream (We put it on the cake.). These were all very delicious, plus, since I told them it was my birthday (which it really was), they gave us a great cheese cake with whipped cream and blueberries on a plate that had "Happy birthday" written in chocolate. The desserts were a positive. Our bill came to over 20,000 yen, over priced we felt. I don't think we'll be coming back here. Once was enough.”

“A Spanish retaurant with an old feel to it. In a good way. Spanish wine along with the usual drinks. Food tastes good but the service was a bit on the slow side. All and all wouldn't hurt to visit.”
