“★★☆☆☆ I brought an important guest here hoping for a fantastic premium dinner. The evening actually started out great. The staff was lovely and our artichoke, red pepper and sausages starters were excellent. But then the main courses arrived and turned this into one of the worst value for money meals I have ever had. Out of a 400 euro bill for three people, the most expensive items were complete failures. The 189 euro premium steak was the biggest letdown of my life. It was way too salty and lacked any depth of flavor. The 120 euro fish was just as disappointing. It is such a shame to take a fresh high quality product and drown it in garlic oil until there is absolutely no fish flavor left. We finished with a Basque cheesecake that was just okay but desperately needed a tart kick like fresh strawberry jam. It is a great spot if you just want wine and appetizers at the bar. But as a main dining experience to host a guest, it was a massive disappointment.”

“Getting a reservation at Sagardi Amsterdam was a great way to kick off our honeymoon! The space is very chic and artistic, with an interior that feels sophisticated yet warm. The star of the show was the Txuleton, which is their signature premium bone-in steak from old Basque dairy cows. It is aged for at least four weeks, and they actually let you see and select your specific cut before it goes on the grill. The quality of the meat is incredible—dry and super fresh—and it was honestly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, even compared to the top spots in New York. While the other dishes were fine and it can get pricey (especially if you dive into the wine list). If you just arrived in Amsterdam and want a truly memorable, high-quality meal, this is a perfect spot.”

“We stumbled onto Sagardi after a canal tour and were absolutely blown away. We ordered the monkfish prepared Basque-style, and it was easily one of the best seafood dishes we’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The baby leeks were another standout, simple but incredibly delicious. The service was fantastic, attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming. “We had dinner with my partner at Sagardi. The place is really beautiful inside and cozy. The staff was super nice and helpful, since they gave us a lot of recommendations. I started with a glass of cider and my partner with a glass of chardonnay. For starters we received bread and txistorra, traditional sausage from Spain. Then we ordered croquettes and white shrimps, both very delicious. We shared the “rape negro” as the main course with a green salad. The fish was amazing. We had the chance to taste a traditional liquor from Spain at the end: pacharan, also really good”
