Ingredients

  • ·500 g mixed pork-beef mince
  • ·60 g bread soaked in 80 ml milk
  • ·1 egg, 2 garlic cloves, parsley, salt
  • ·Flour for dusting, olive oil for frying
  • ·400 g crushed tomato
  • ·1 small onion, 100 ml white wine, 1 bay leaf

Method

    Squeeze the soaked bread and mix with the mince, egg, garlic, parsley and salt. Rest 15 minutes.

    Form walnut-size balls, dust lightly with flour, and brown in olive oil in batches. Set aside.

    In the same pan, soften the onion, add the wine and reduce by half, then tomato and bay. Simmer 10 minutes.

    Nestle the meatballs in the sauce and simmer gently 15 minutes. Rest 5; serve in the pan with bread.
