“Excellent lunch. We enjoyed grilled eggplant, pulpo/potatoes, and paella. All dishes were excellent with deft seasoning and quality ingredients. In fact, our meal was better than the food from most of the restaurants we tried during a recent trip to Girona. Well worth the trip from Ottawa. Our only suggestion for improvement would be that the dining room is noisy and would benefit from some additional of some sound-absorbing materials.”

“OK food, but IMO overpriced by about 50% for the quality & portions, even for Canada. $16 for a dish of mushrooms 4" in diameter, nothing crazy. Croquetas and patatas bravas unimpressive, under-seasoned. Berenjas ok. Salad excessively sweet. The $45 charcuterie board didn't come with any bread, crackers or fresh fruit. Desserts good. Have been to Spain many times and are familiar with Spanish cuisine. IMO prices here suggested high-end but quality/portions were mid-range at best. *Read the reply. Value isn't about having a low price, it's that the price is well matched to the product. From what I can see, this “recognition” isn't competitive like a Michelin star or medal. There’s no judging or competition. It’s a certification program (similar to ‘Certified Angus Beef’) run as part of a Spanish government promotional initiative for restaurants abroad.”

“We went to Little Barcelona on the Victoria Day long weekend after seeing it recommended on several platforms, so our expectations were fairly high. The restaurant is located in a warehouse-style space. The interior was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly throughout the evening. The menu looked similar to what you would expect from a Spanish-style restaurant, and the drinks were probably one of the better parts of the experience. The white wine with fruit was interesting and enjoyable. However, the food experience was disappointing. The biggest surprise was the portion size. We ordered the croquettes, and only three small balls came out. We also ordered the fried tuna, which came with four pieces. Luckily, there were four of us, so each person got one piece. But if you come with five or six friends, figuring out how to split four pieces becomes a surprisingly interesting math problem. The salad was basically a few leaves on a plate. The beef with shrimp came with around seven or eight shrimp; thankfully it was eight, so each of us could at least have two. The ham and cheese platter was fine, but even for items that seemed mostly ready to serve, we still had to wait a very long time. The biggest issue was the pace of service. From the first dishes to the final rice dish, we waited almost two hours. Between some dishes, there was a 40 to 50 minute gap. When you are hungry, that kind of waiting time feels even longer. Overall, my impression is that Little Barcelona is more about presentation than substance. The service was nice and the space was decent, but the portions were small, the kitchen was slow, and the price was not low. We paid around $80 per person and honestly felt lucky that there was a Burger King five minutes away, so we could still get a proper meal afterwards. If you are just looking for atmosphere or want to try it once out of curiosity, it might be fine. But if you want a satisfying dinner, reasonable pacing, and good value for the price, I personally would not recommend it. Do not rely only on the five-star Google reviews.”

“Lovely little gem. Truly authentic Spanish cuisine from all over the country. Ranging from Valencian paella to Galician pulpo (octopus). The atmosphere was very cozy cantina, and had a nice fenced in patio. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, and very on point with their recommendations. You will spend a bit more here than other local eateries, but the price here is absolutely worth it. Though the mark does take into account the tapas and paella are meant to be sharable items. Location is also wheelchair accessible, with gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options available across the menu. 10/10, will absolutely return and recommend to friends”

“What a gem! The chef, from Barcelona, brought the best ingredients from his hometown to make authentic tapas and pinchos. It brought us back to our recent trip to San Sebastian. The service was warm and attentive. Accommodating for gluten free folks. We purchased some treats from their store, too. We will definitely be back. “Enjoyed a dinner date for my wedding anniversary. Service was a little clunky but the server was friendly and the food was great. The atmosphere was delightful on the patio with what I believe was Spanish guitar music playing and an outdoor cooking area. A few cobwebs could have been taken care of but that’s maybe a bit nit picky. :) The food was delicious! Ordered tomato on sourdough, and eggplant “fries” which were lightly seasoned and so tender. The vegetable paella was also very good. Pricey for the quantity but most of their ingredients are imported from Spain (and they export to 3-Michelin star restaurants in Ontario and Montreal) so I think it was worth it for a special occasion. I even loved the sparkling water. I don’t know what made it special but it was really good. :)”

“After eating on the patio of this delightful little restaurant, a wonderful find, I should emphasize that Little Barcelona in Prescott ON (off the 416 and 401) should be a destination and not an after-thought or an en route stop for a meal. We selected the assortment of croquetas, the pan con tomate, the charcuterie board and the seafood paella. The ingredients were high quality, several imported from Spain. Pan con tomate (tomato bread) was simple and tasty, and is made by rubbing fresh garlic and ripe tomatoes directly over warmed rustic bread. A little more of the grated tomato mixture would have improved the resulting flavor, in my view. The charcuterie board offered exceptional quality meats and cheeses from Spain, paired with excellent service Fortunately items on the dinner menu were served for lunch too, notably the paella, which was the pièce de résistance. After all, locals in Barcelona rarely have paella at night. If you don’t like seafood don’t worry, they have options here. Also with a good paella the toppings are a bonus, not the main show, so don’t expect the mussels, shrimp, octopus or other ingredients depending on your choice to cover the paella. The secret is in the broth and the quality of the rice. This was cooked outside right next to us and was a full-on statement of gastronomic intent.”
