“My partner and I recently visited El Porton and we loved it! It was packed when we arrived and we were seated at the bar. Food arrived on time despite the large amount of orders. The food itself was amazing, we had the Guindilla, Jamon croquettes and Paella. The service was amazing, they took the time to explain what the dishes were as we are not familiar with Spanish food. “We arrived at El Porton for a celebratory lunch. The man server was very pleasant and welcoming. We sat uncover outside although there was a large dining area inside that looked very elegant. A heater was quickly fired up to warm us a little as it was a cold June day. We had the garlic prawns with a greens side dish. At the recommendation of the man server was also had some bread rolls to soak up the garlic oil. Great recommendation. The garlic prawns were to die for. Beautifully cooked with lashings of garlic. The greens were excellent. The spanish Pinot Gris was buttery smooth with a wonderful crispness at the same time. The food is not inexpensive so if you are half cut and wanting to get some nosh in your guts, this might not be the place go. But if you want quality food cooked to perfection and appreciate that sometimes this involves a little more time and expense , you would not be let down by El Porton. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Plenty of parking. It is not a complaint against El Porton but the outside section where we sat is a little tired and could do with a clean. Centre management!”

“Cannot rate them highly enough. Friendly and accommodating staff, incredible food, delightful drinks. Staff were super helpful around allergies, which was greatly appreciated. Ordered the croquettes, which were divine. Melt in your mouth after a crispy shell. The ARROZ DE CARRILLERA was absolutely beautiful. The beef cheek, cooked for 12 hours, was truly incredible. Fell apart at the touch of the fork. The rice with mushrooms was wonderfully seasoned and not overly oily (thankfully). Cannot reccommend them enough!”

The anchovy starter was packed with umami — an unexpected delight — paired beautifully with crisp textures that elevated the dish. And the artichoke… wow. An underrated hero that deserves centre stage. I’d strongly encourage everyone to try it — it’s phenomenal. It would be a real loss if it ever disappeared from the menu. I also had the special: zucchini flower stuffed with four cheeses, served on a rich tomato and almond sauce. It was exceptional — perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying. A special mention to the manager (from Colombia — I regret not catching her name). She is an absolute gem and a huge asset to the business. If her boss doesn’t give her a pay rise, I might just have to recruit her myself! Highly recommend — bring your friends, you won’t be disappointed.”

“We’ve been looking for a good Spanish tapas restaurant and we finally found it. Highly recommended! We loved both the food and the overall experience. We ordered the croquettes, garlic prawns with sourdough roll, braised octopus, veal, and chips, everything was delicious. The surprise cinnamon & citrus–infused ice cream sandwich for a birthday celebration was a lovely touch. Dishes on other tables looked amazing too. “If you want to savor the real Spanish food, this is the place. Best Spaniard restaurant I've ever been in Australia (and I've been to many in 4 states). Amazing food quality, very tasty dishes and OMG the croquetas. Finally, the real creamy croquetas in Queensland. Also, the paella is cook to perfection and you can see the basque cheesecake... Simply delicious. The staff was amazing, especially Nestor, he made great recommendations and took care of us. Looking forward to eating here again.”
