“We just happen to find this restaurant when looking around for options in the area. As my wife and I love food from Spain we decided to give La Taberna a try. First off the restaurant had a nice relaxing atmosphere and was easy to talk. Staff were attentive to us the entire time. Good service is one thing, but what about the food and drinks? I had the white sangria and it was really good, maybe even too good! Had fruit and a nice refreshing taste just like i would expect from a good sangria. Next is the food and we had a wide variety to get a good taste of what this restaurant has. My favorite appetizer was the octopus. This is a good plate to get if you want to know if a restaurant is going to be quality. Octopus if too old or not cooked correctly is rubbery, but fortunately this was neither and was easy to cut. The taste was also great i would give it a 8/10. Next the meals themselves and i had the seafood for Paella and it was great. Was just enough for me and plenty of seafood for the price. So the food was good, but is it worth the price? I been to other good Spain restaurants in bogota and the prices were about the same and maybe a tad higher. This place is not cheap by any means so don’t be surprised by the check at the end. Good restaurant and worth it to give it a try!”

“This place might rip you off. The first time we came here, we asked for a water, and instead of bringing a normal bottled water, they brought to our table a tall fancy bottle that cost around 35,000 pesos, without first telling us the price. And the paella we ordered was overcooked, with the rice being crispy and stuck to the skillet. A few months later we decided to give this place a second try. We were only 3 persons, so we requested the half-portion of cochinillo segoviana for 6, which we were told we could do. But instead, they brought us the half-portion of the cochinillo for 10, which is considerably more expensive (about 65,000 additional pesos for the half-portion). Like the previous time we visited, they once again defaulted to the most expensive option in bad faith. The amount of food brought also would not have satisfied our appetites if we had been 5 people. We discussed this mistake with the staff, and they said that there had been a miscommunication but would not amend our bill. Although our waiter was apologetic about the situation, the woman who greeted us at the door and originally took our order was very unapologetic and treated us with a bad attitude. As an additional note, this place advertises live music, but sometimes the musicians cancel or leave early.”
