“It was late afternoon before sunset and the scene in Geneva, lively and vibrant. Alex and Juan saw us walk in and immediately acknowledged us and welcomed us to whatever seat we’d like. The outdoor seating was filled with gleaming crowds of chit chatting drinking and dining individuals yet we chose the seating inside; given the hot weather the fans were a nice touch. We ordered the “croquetas de sepias y gambas” and “escalivada.” If you don’t know what it is, don’t worry, just try them like I did because you won’t be disappointed. I claim I don’t like seafood yet I ate everything and very much enjoyed it! We also had the 1906 beer that was absolutely a nice pairing with the meal. What made Hanae over the top enjoyable was the service. Juan was our server and he knew exactly how to talk to us, create a neighborly environment, and overall made us want to come back again and again. Alex, the other server, although he wasn’t attending our table, took the time to say hello and see that we were well. Juan walked up to our table to clear our plates and asked how our meal was; we joked that everything, especially the environment and service were terrible but we were clearly joking as we had finished everything and felt comfortable enough with him to speak blasphemy when everything was enjoyable! When it came time to pay, we walked up to Alex because we wanted to thank him and Juan for the excellent service. Good food, good beer, superb service makes this a hands-down, “you def have to stop by,” spot. Thank you Juan and Alex for making our evening one of smiles, laughter, jokes, and great meal.”

“Excellent Spanish restaurant in Geneva, near the Fountain, offering a wide range of very good traditional tapas! All the classics are on the menu and everything we tried was truly fantastic! If you order it ahead, they also make a very good paella. The staff is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is cool to (a bit noisy though). Oh, and their wine menu is very interesting too!”
