Out of chef Juliano Varese´s passion for Spanish cuisine, Torero Valese is born in 2008 right in the heart of Brazil. A space that offers a wide variety of traditional dishes, wines and liquors. Apart from the chef´s trajectory and experience, and the fantastic comments of the locals, several prestigious awards such as "best tapa in the city" by Época São Paulo Magazine or Comer & Beber Award 2014 are a clear proof of Torero Valese´s great quality.

Firstly as happens often in Brazil the dishes are very salty, in this case especially octopus. Salt is often used as a disguise for food that is not totally fresh anymore. The tapa dishes were average. The octopus dish was more potatoes than octopus, a disappointment for sure (see photo). Service was also not overly attentive and the music that was playing at the background had nothing to do with Spain and was overall out of the setting. Overall given the above average prices I cannot recommend this restaurant”

After trying the octoplus here, I started searching for other ones that could be as good as theirs, but I always have to come back because it is imposible to match Torero's. The staff is always cordial and helpful. The wine prices are fair, but if you have a special bottle at home, you are allowed to bring it at no extra charge.”

Well when you have one table being so noisy that it disturbs the atmosphere of others it ruins the meal. Based on other experiences I would say 4 stars but you need to be prepared to ask some of your clients to keep it down, if you want the rest of your clients to be happy”
